Chantek Mary McNeilage
RCST
- Prenatal & Birth Therapy
Prenatal & birth exploration is offered to those of us drawn to deepen our own understanding of ourselves, to women and couples preparing for birth, therapists, those working with birthing parents and teachers in the field. Chantek sees both individuals and families and runs prenatal & birth exploration workshops with small groups of adults.
- Listening to Mothers Following Childbirth
Reflecting on the birth experience and supporting woman and families who have had a challenging and difficult time. Mothers need to share and express their experiences, be listened to with compassion and understanding. These painful experiences can be carried throughout life. It is never too late for us to ease and resolve these feelings. This level of safe, kind support and reflection enables integration back within a healthy, loving family life.
- MBSR - Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
Mindfulness may be described as the capacity to bring non-judgemental awareness to the moment-to-moment experience of our lives: a way to develop inner kindness towards ourselves. It can be cultivated with practice and, through it, there is the opportunity to learn directly about the nature of who we are and the experiences of stress and anxiety so common to our lives. This course is experiential, practice based and participatory, and is of great value and benefit both to those who have experience in meditation and those who have no experience at all.
Chantek has been practising in complementary healthcare since 1977. Her work is informed from a background in Prenatal & Birth Therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Transpersonal Development and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, which incorporates meditation and mindful movement skills.
