Shiatsu

Shiatsu is a form of Oriental meridian therapy and bodywork which emerged from Japan. The practitioner applies pressure to the body using a combination of massage techniques through clothing, to ease tension and encourage the circulation of energy. The limbs are gently moved and stretched while acu-points are activated, to releive pain and stiffness and restore vitality through the channels. Benefits include regulating the hormonal system and the circulation of blood, while aiding the elimination of waste products. Shiatsu can be used to treat many conditions, as well as for general relaxation.
